The Urge to Remember
I want to remember the time you told me that you loved me,
The flowers, the chocolates, the jewelry.
I want to remember the beautiful dinner to which you did propose,
All the planning, the taste testing, the invites.
I want to remember the unimaginable, pearl, white dress that clung to my body,
The pen motion of us writing our vows.
All of these beautiful things I should have remembered.
Sadly, the only thing I do recall,
Is you not standing at the alter.
