Blue-Eyed Abyss
One day a jovial young sailor
set off to conquer the sea.
Even though he didn’t know much about her,
he decided that his love she’d be.
Soon the sailor found himself stranded;
a pawn in her blue-eyed abyss,
he was completely oblivious to his surroundings,
and his ignorance wasn’t the kind of bliss.
The adventurer tried to gain his bearings,
though he really didn’t know where to begin;
every ripple he caused upon the surface
had a much larger impact within.
The cerulean divinity decided
she couldn’t keep him long,
for she sensed familiarity ahead
and couldn’t handle the danger it wrought on.
Out the sailor was spit from the waters,
rivaling Jonah in his disheveled sight,
yet the argument could always be made
that hers was a far more perilous plight.
