You planted a garden
On my body.
Violet petals
Blooming up my ribs,
indigo flowers
Vined around my shoulders,
Entwined around
My surface.

And my heart.

My tears
Quench
The thirsty roots
Of the flora
That thrives
In the ecosystem
That is my
Anatomy.

I etch scarlet stems
On my wrists
To match the
Blood flowers
You dug into
My skin’s soil.

What a dangerous garden
We have so naively
Nurtured.
