I'm a beautiful disaster
Just glance into my eyes
They may seem light and easy at first
But stare really deep into them
I can show you pain
The hurt, the misery, the confusion they see
They show my imperfections, my faults, my flaws
They give you an inside look at my hurt and my fear
Now take a step back and look at my face
You can see my smile I paint on my face everyday
Gaze at my arms
They tell my story of hurt and abandonment better than I ever could
No matter how much I try to hide them
They are always there
Now look into my eyes again
You see what I see now
My flaws and imperfections
And you find out that the perfect thread you thought I was
Is frayed beyond repair at the end

The author's comments:
The experiences that teenagers go through nowadays is what really inspired me to do this. I hope what people will get from this is that teenagers do really think of themselves negatively sometimes. I also want them to get that life isn't always perfect, and that there is no exemplary life for anyone to live by, because everyone in life is fallible. What I want teenagers to get from this that they are never alone, that everyone is facing their toughest critic everyday, that there is always hope for everyone no matter what.

I really like your poem! It sees that you actually say how all teens feel. they feel like a third wheel to society, but hey are expected to behave normally and smile. Great poem! Can you please check out mine?
