Dream big, because inspiration, like fire, spreads rapidly. - Me

They said Roses are Red,
Roses aren't red, roses are the thorn sticking in my hand,
The pain of arriving at my love's house and seeing flowers are already there,
Violets aren't blue,
Violet is violent without the n because I didn't want you to get hurt,
Hurt from the feelings I lay out like legos and landmines,
Regardless of the color, each flower I give you represents something,
Every petal a different experience we’ve shared,
A new adventure I would take you on,
And who knows, maybe roses are actually red,
Maybe violets are indeed violet,
The color is irrelevant, for a wise man once said,
“A rose by any other name is just as sweet.”

I wrote this because my Poetry Club advisor challenged us to use the cliche of "roses are red" and making it something new and fresh.
