Grip tape keeps me down to earth, and along the rainbow I glide. For i find stability and serenity along the open road at high speeds. My sanctuary is not bound by geographical location, yet my two feet always end up in the same place.

All the while the board alleviates the weight of the world from my mind and transfers all my intense worry into the cement, one hill at a time. With a common start and endpoint it would seem as if no progress was made; however as my anxiety rests and i uncover the tranquility within; I move alone spiritual lines, progress not perfection. With no prescription my medicine has four wheels, taken as needed.

The elongated wooden key to reveal this temporary sense of inner peace and enlightenment. Each hill is a lock, an obstacle, a microcosm for my life preventing me from opening the corridor to see beyond my own ignorance. This is where courage must be found in abundance, if not, the hill will mock you, the challenge avoided, a regret in the making, the inability to conquer the pavement. There I begin my downward descent along the curved terrain.

The wind whistles in varying tones and volumes, yet each note carries beauty whether the sounds produced are pleasing or not. Gracefully dancing along the path set for me by nature. The cool breeze caresses my face and body with the touch of a loving mother. Feeling the force uncontrollable by I, following its guidance. Under my multicolored wheels shaking ever so slightly is where i find true stability.

The aroma is sweet and tantalizing like apple pie from a distance. As i bend lower to maximize velocity, the rumble of the pebbles beneath my board crescendos into a quiet roar. One of those sounds you can feel in your stomach. Running my finger tips along the sandpaper type grip, each indentation crafted purpose, a conscious thought, but why?

As my mind wanders sans restriction by the chains of humanity, I come back to reality. The ride is done and I have to make my trek back up the hill. Yet just for just a moment, I feel at peace, without worry. For just this sliver in time I can find tranquility, and as I go to take another dose I find myself gliding on a rainbow.
