The Lost Sock
The alarms sound
The search-and-rescue dogs
Are given the scent and released
As the search begins
For the lost sock
The teams look in caves
On top of mountains
In the desert
Under the ocean
So their boss won’t fire them
One by one
The teams give up
As days go by
And the lost sock stays lost
The last team standing
My team
Admits to the boss
No teams had any luck
So the boss sets out
On her own search
On which
She finds the lost sock
With the love of a mother that she is
All us children
Are let off with yet another warning
And a cranky mama
