Manayunk MAG
why have we stopped dreaming,
and not just dreams for a nonexistent Hollywood,
and its commercialized glamor
but dreams of living in the wharves and warehouses
that line Manayunk
yeah –
breathing the sun-polluted air of a place
where Philadelphia herself comes to play:
with her tourists,
with her extravagance!
when she's receded mid-winter
and the wharves and the ancient waters and by-ways are ours again
and all the never-spoken, all-encompassing mysteries of Manayunk once again shroud our sight
and the magical night air pervades
our minds
