forgotten dreams

while you're drifting,
so fast asleep,
the stars above,
let secrets leak.
and as you lay,
futures they share,
in hushed harmonies,
of what their constellations bare.
if only the sky held out longer,
passed faded counts of sheep,
maybe our memories would hold,
onto these mysteries to keep.
