Hidden Spark
There was once a foggy world,
Swirling mist covered all.
Those who spoke made little sound;
Those who didn’t spat grey,
Meaningless words and frowned.
People would snicker.
People would remark.
All truth was hidden in the dark.
A flicker was spotted from afar.
Something parted the mist.
Those who could see, saw.
Those who couldn’t spat grey,
Meaningless words: blah blah.
What was the flicker?
What was the spark?
What was hidden in the dark?
Time passed by,
Tales were told.
Those who could hear, heard.
Those who couldn’t spat grey,
Empty words, all absurd.
What was the flicker?
What was the spark?
What was hidden in the dark?
Traveling through mist,
Curiosity grew.
Those who could sense, sensed.
Those who couldn’t spat grey,
Empty words, all condensed.
What was the flicker?
What was the spark?
What was hidden in the dark?
Time came ‘round,
Conversation was found.
Those who could think, thought.
Those who couldn’t spat grey,
Aimless comments, and shot.
Was this the flicker?
Was this the spark?
Was this hidden in the dark?
Arguments blurted while
Hand motions fired.
Those who could smile, laughed.
Those who couldn’t spat grey,
Aimless words though the draft.
Could this be the flicker?
Could this be the spark?
Could this be hidden in the dark?
Interruptions came,
Good byes they became.
Those who could ask, asked.
Those who couldn’t spat grey,
Old regards, behind masks.
Could that be the flicker?
Could that be the spark?
Could that be the hidden in the dark?
Messages passed,
Conversation began anew.
Those who could talk, talked.
Those who couldn’t spent grey,
boring lives closed and locked.
Could that be the flicker?
Could that be the spark?
Could that be the hidden in the dark?
Talk here, discuss there,
Laugh everywhere.
Those who can shine, glow.
Those who can’t spit grey,
And just go with the flow.
That is the flicker.
That is the spark.
That’s what was hidden in the dark.
