A Kaleidoscope of Possibilities
Slowly churns within and manifests itself in our hearts.
Each time we try to look away
There it stands tall and proud
Ready to knock us down again
With each breath and each whisper
Our minds are stricken with fear
Hands shaking, eyes darting
Hairs on our skin crawling
The books try to lend us a hand
But alas the disease is stronger
It is able to capture each beauty
And turn it into something ugly
The world may be bright with glory
But to us, it paints the picture of melancholy
The people start to drift away
They have had enough of us
Finally, we can't take it anymore
We slash that being who has caused all the pain
We scream with pride and belief in ourselves
Finally after the fight is over
It becomes clear
This insecurity has torn us down
But, only enough for us to get back up again
And realize that a kaleidoscope of possibilities awaits
Bright and furious with passion
We no longer have to look down and keep our eyes low
Finally we are living
And the world's beauty is in our hands
