there is a monster
inside us all
fighting to gain control
pulling at the seams
of our wellbeing.
threatening to tear us apart
from the very start
a battle in the depths
of my heart.
everyday we struggle
right versus wrong
easy versus strong.
it takes its toll but
we are fighting to be kind
fighting the monster inside.
