Happiness
Is it really the feeling we get when we do the right thing
When we get onto our feet and want to dance and sing
Is it walking in the sunshine on a clear summer day
Having no care in the world in any other way
Maybe its something else that we haven’t ever thought
Something that even the smartest person hasn’t caught
Maybe happiness is actually the peace behind all our pain
The hope that a brand new day will come again
The absence of sorrow, heartache, and hate
The one form of medicine that we all must take
Maybe it’s the screen before our very eyes
Or maybe it’s a doorway to a brand new surprise
Happiness must come in many different means
In love, in hate and in everything in between
It’s what you find between the bumps of the road
When you have lost your way through your own life’s code
Maybe we don’t know what happiness is
All I can say now though is one thing this
Happiness is whatever you want to make it
So close your eyes, open your mind, and it’ll come bit by bit
