You broke my heart,
Not once, not twice but thrice.
My beloved Prince Charming
You gifted and adorned me with only lies...
You played with my feelings
As if it were a toy,
But let me remind you that
You, too, were just another boy.
You effortlessly made me want to cry,
Much to your chagrin, I didn’t’, at least not to your face
I nodded and left you but with grace!
Questions brainstormed my head,
Was it me, was it you and why?
Because I still remember you running after me with so much craze,
The idea of breaking up was something I couldn’t face...
Pity! You only passed me on some gray skies,
Needless to say, the things raining there were but my eyes.
Ten months later, I found the answers to who and why,
It wasn’t me, it wasn’t you
It is just the flow of life…
Though you are never going to know that a certain girl you left broken to the core,
Is now getting stronger than she was ever before.
PS, the skies are now of the brightest blue,
For which with the bottom of my heart I thank you.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem when out of the blue, I was hit by the question that why should we mourn over a dead relationship when we can heal. Break ups are a part of growing up. I am fifteen and a wrote a couple of months back when I required healing. I dedicate this poem to anyone who requires healing.
