Her piercing screams stop me, scare me straight. I've heard this sound before but the other day. I sit on my rusted old fractured fire escape, to take a smoke and have a break. Chills of the night go out every puff I smoke. I know her screams keep the neighbors kids awake. Her cry breaks my heart and taps my soul, gives me feeling of death, it's just that cold. Alone she lays I see, on the floor o her hands and knees. Her window is open, she looks at me with pain eyes screaming help, so close to whispering those saving words but the light shuts off in mid-second. Stars flash on me as if I'm the savior and the moon looks at me clueless as if saying to me "You can't let her voice be unheard." Heart beating so hard I felt in my feet. Trembling hard, thoughts rushing through my head trying to come up with a master plan. Shattered glass caught my attention. I can't let her face this fight on her own, she won't win. Time to step in. It's SILENT !
