Carried Away

Trails of tears stain the walkway.
She finds a home amongst the depressed and alone, yet still feels incomplete.
Walking along the empty tracks she searches to find what she is looking for, what is missing.
Daybreak gives her time enough to follow her shadow into an alleyway.
She steps away from the city and into the grungy depths of the dank dark corners.
Holding onto a crystal necklace of an angel draped in a red gown she makes her way to a place she had not known.
Toward the welcoming arms gentle and warm that lay beyond her confines,
Is the sunshine holding to the buildings that surround her.
She need only take a step into the direction of oncoming light.
The brilliance of the day that would
Overwhelm the emotions she laid away.
