You don’t know my past
or how I got here.
You don’t know my feelings
or the pain I’ve been through.
You don’t know my strengths
or my weaknesses.
You don’t know that I
fear letting people down.
You don’t know my family
or that I’ve been through divorce.
You don’t know that
I’ve been bullied before.
You don’t know that each
of your words hit me like
shattered glass.
You don’t know that
soon my shields will
break and I will be weak.
You don’t know my life
and you don’t know ME.
All you know is my
name and how to hurt me.
