He's like a K-9
Big jaws and teeth
A frightening growl
But soft underneath

He's some trouble
But means no harm
His bad luck doubles
And he is an alarm

He's a danger to society
But a good heart to me
He's everything that. . .
I never want to be

He's my father forever
Despite his savage ways
I'll say goodbye
But the love always stays

The author's comments:
This is about my father who sadly is an alcoholic and drug user. He has good intentions but under the influence is a dangerous person. I basically wrote this for people who have to let go of those who mean well but make poor choices.
