Stranded in the middle of the ocean
Her mind working in slow motion
Her legs tread
Life hanging by a thread
Her muscles start to fail
But her heart kicks in and hope prevails
She doesn’t know how she got here
Even her rejoicing way of life was overcome by fear
Ever memory from the past of stuck like a scar
Like the ones that lined her body in representation of herself hate
The fish swimming around her feet were the demons pulling her to the underworld
A mirage of land taunted her further in the ocean
The tides pulling her in a forward motion
Rip current drowns her
Trapping, and deceiving, deeper, further
The waves were reality
But her survival was fantasy

"Friendship isn't always easy, but there's no doubt it's worth fighting for."

Wonderful poem! Descriptive, beautiful and deep. Lovely metaphor for a life struggle.

Really drew me in with the careful wording! Great job! I love your use of numerous literary devices!
