Dream big, because inspiration, like fire, spreads rapidly. - Me

93° in July, boy take off that jacket,
I’m only wearing it, so I have a place to put my Summer packet,
But to be honest, there’s a method to my art,
I wear my jacket constantly, like armor for my heart.

Deep in the pockets, little clumps of lint,
The color of my sadness, dullen to a tint,
Although I empty the contents, attempting to release the curse,
Fifteen years of being “just alright” is something I can’t reimburse.

“Boy why do you wear that everyday?”
I wear it everyday so I keep the stress away,
It comforts me, it engulfs me, to me its like safety,
It’s always been armor for my heart, I won’t let anything break me.

Even when I’m hasty or even a little bit hesitant,
At the hotel of misfortune, I’ve been a lifelong resident,
Armor for my heart, or a pocket to hold my packet?
It doesn’t really matter, at least I have my jacket.

My collection of hoodies inspired this, I always wear a hoodie, or jacket, no matter the temperature. It has become my style and I don't like going anywhere without them.
