For You...My Sister
You talk like me
Walk like me
Laugh like me
Smile like me
And make mistakes like me
That is what I am afraid of
Don’t be like me
I have made mistakes
That I wished I could take back
I thought I was cool
Soon you will too
Then you will wonder
The walls of our home
In regret and wishing
To take it all back
I warn you
I teach you
To be you
To think for yourself
Don’t let someone
Invade your thoughts
Your young and I pray
You never think you’re in love

You’ll want to hide

But you just run
Ignoring my pride
For I have grown
Learning my lesson
I hope you never have yours
See, these lessons are not childish
But adult in every way
You push your blonde hair away
Roll your blue eyes
You try to disguise
Your interest
In my crimes
You think you know it all
So did I
Now look at me
A person trying to change
When I shouldn’t have in the first place
Think, relax and pray
To never be like me
Even though I know you will……
