Cracking Up
I dropped an egg in my notebook,
A white egg on my precious lined pages.
A mess! A smear! A spot to stay,
A stain that will never go away.
I picked it up,
Or at least what I could,
Except there’s still an egg in my notebook,
Squished between pages.
I can’t believe I dropped it,
What a mess!
What a smear!
At least it was hard-boiled,
So there was really nothing to fear.
Have you cracked a smile today?
