What We Were
As I reread what we’ve spoken
Those many weeks ago
I learned by heart from the start
You weren’t who you said you were
It started out surreal,
How we connected, I respected
The way you showed your love, desire,
What I thought was real
Then it took a turn for the worst,
You weren’t what you rehearsed
You changed, it became a game
I wasn’t willing to play
But you sure were with me And my friends..
You were scared of my react
as I was scared of what you had to say..
But it worked out perfect that way.
You didn’t talk, I didn’t wanna listen
You told my best friend what I wanted to hear
& ended up avoiding everything that I had to say.
I hate that day we became just friends
But maybe it was for the best..
In one way or another..
But as you said
You didn’t trust me so you wouldn’t hurt me
But too late for that..
& Just as I said:
When you look back, I’ll Always be there¦.
No matter what
& thats a promise¦
