Unlike any guy you’ll ever meet,
honest, funny, rude, and harsh;
he can make you laugh or cry
with just a single word or two.
You never thought you’d talk to him
strutting in his Army uniform,
his pale freckled face always so emotionless.
You happened to bump into him one day,
started talking about the weather,
then about books and movies,
and soon became fast friends.

He’s always extremely determined,
from running countless laps to
winning pointless arguments.
He never surrenders, never gives up.
Only on purpose will he lose,
showing pity on his opponent,
giving them hope, that someday,
just maybe, they’ll be able to win.

Religiously devoted to Atheism,
he won’t accept that there’s a God.
He’s seen too many trials to believe.
The death of his mother and sister
and the difficult life he’s had to live
has hardened his heart to the world.
He only believes in himself and
the forces of Middle Earth.

You’d never guess that he was so sad,
not by the dimple in his cheek when he grins
or by his hearty laugh that shakes the room.
But you’ve grown to love him over time;
he’s the older brother you wish you had.
You’ve opened up your heart to him
and he’s opened his to you.
You learn to help each other and
overcome the pains of the world.

He’s unlike any guy you’ll ever meet.
He’s simply a figment of your imagination.
