The Stranger in My Mirror
I can’t look in the mirror.
I’m not the girl I want to be.
My reflection is of someone else;
A hollow shell of the girl I want to be.
Like a drifting cloud, I drift.
I’m not the girl I want to be.
I pound the reflection with my fist.
In shards of glass, the girl I don’t recognize
Falls to the bathroom floor.
It’s time to be the girl I want to be.
