Every morning when I wake up

I’m surprised to find that my arms

have not mysteriously morphed into leaves

overnight and that my legs are still just

bone encased in too much flesh.

You are what you eat

and I’ve been downing flower blossoms

for quite sometime now but

so far, only my insides are worth

giving to your grandmother on her birthday.

If this were a painting, I'd picture it as a surreal piece. I love the morphing part. Just picturing it is so much fun. And that ending, it's twisted. Eerie. But...I...love...it.
