The Past
They say the past is the past and not to look back
But how could I not?
For time has gone by so fast
As I drift into what seems to be a nightmare,
I see myself becoming what I've become
I see the tears that have created most of my fears,
The long nights of over thinking and self hating,
The blood dripping down the bathtub,
And the feeling of myself slowly going crazy
If I was to forget my past,
I would simply forget myself
They say not to let your past define you,
But for me it does
Without it,
I wouldn't know who I am,
And I wouldn't be able to realize how far I've come.
