Stars
Twinkling in the distance
Ever so far away
So near but so far
Never to be touched by a human hand
Or tainted by the fingerprints of another being
Stars are said to be floating balls of gas
But that is a scientific explanation.
Really, stars are like lamp-posts that light up the sky,
Guiding drunken deities home after a long day of both work and rest.
