Silent Voice
No one ever listens
To the voice in the back
Or maybe they hear it
And they exclude you from their click or pack.
How can you be influenced?
If no one is ever around?
How can you speak if you never speak?
It’s like blasting music but no one can hear a sound.
You are invisible to the rest of the world
A world that never asks you what you think or how you feel.
You’re in an existing world
Where you don’t exist nor seem real.
Covered up like the cloud covers the sun,
Thinking to yourself, “Why am I even here?”
Surely, I must be here for a reason,
Wanting to speak, but shaken in fear.
Are you living or are you existing?
You can be alive and still be dead,
If you are always bottled up inside
And never say what’s going on in your head.
You speak for the first time
And it comes unrepentantly out of nowhere
Pencils drop and a room full of heads turns
As they all stop and stare.
Everyone is in shock
Because they’ve never heard you speak.
It’s like watching a movie for the first time
Without getting a sneak peek.
The pressure’s off,
You’ve finally spoke
And the silent voice,
Has now been broke.
