I'll Follow You
I’ll follow you to the city of angels, my broken wingéd creature,
And watch the miracle of your rebirth take place before my eyes.
Everything is sacred, in this city of hybrids,
Where the gift of flight is given, but the chance to live is earned.
I’ll follow you to the ends of the earth, where everything is nothing,
Black, stormless, serene.
And we’ll tumble through space;
Weightless, waveless. Free.
I’ll follow you to the depths of the ocean, twisting through the currents.
Crushing pressure stealing my breath in bubbles and waves.
Time stops, but only for a moment, before the routine of everyday life resumes.
The endless blue expanse of water isn’t so endless anymore.
I’ll follow you into the heart of the lightning storm,
Challenge the thunderclaps and cry my victory in the rain.
My tears will be streaks on your window pane,
Chasing each other in a race to be closer to you.
