Nightly Routine
I am a happy ray of sunshine
A vibrant flare of life
I am a happy, joyous, quiet child
Whose dreams are in the making
But when I go to bed and close the door
I let the silent tears leak out
From where they have been hiding all day
I shake from the sobs
I try to catch my breathe
The harder I try
The more explosions hit my abdomen
My lips tremble uncontrollably
The cry water slides down my cheeks to my neck
I am strong
That is what I tell you
I am strong
That is what I tell you
I am fine
I haven't had a horrible life
I just need some time to get over the bad things
I just can not let them go
When I am cried out
My face gets tight with the salty residue
I am tough
I am strong
I don't need anybody
I am tough
I am strong
I don't need nobody
