Ode To Jonny Bear
Jonathan got me a bear
one with memories
woven
knitted
dyed into his fur
like paint in water
swirled and mixed
never to be removed
one with warmth
like a fire on a cold winter night
filled with fog and icy breath
sponge-like, filled with teats
dripped in like tap water
mixed with salt
bittersweet
It lays
on my bed waiting
silently
serenely
it's eyes watchful
two black pools
in a sea of
green, brown and black
like food coloring
swirled together
camouflage
supporting our nation
so strong, so soft,
so caring
and there it waits.
