I don't want to see you cry.
I don't want to see you cry,
I don't want to see you cry.
When tears spill from your eyes,
my heart aches
to reach out,
soothe the pain in your.
It's precious as it beats.
Love after thump after love
fills your veins,
your soul;
captive in the hands of another,
to crush or to cherish.
Crushed, it runs cold;
sadness engulfing who you are.
Crushed, as tears fill your eyes,
I don't want to see you cry.
They overflow and fall.
Your heart so heavy,
it sinks in your chest,
dropping to the lowest depths.
You want to pull it out, but can't.
You should know how strong it is,
thumping through the pain.
There's a stray heart you don't recognize;
soft and inviting,
pulling at yours,
reconnecting veins that were torn in the process.
"Please," the heart whispers to yours,
"I don't want to see you cry".
