The Wayward Journeyman
Abandoned he lies on many a street corner,
conceding his life to a hopeless fate.
Haunted by moments past.
He has long journeyed on nigh a penny,
wandering through the barren country of time.
On and on he travels.
Where he goes, it is unknown,
he travels endlessly, to flee from enemies.
Tormented by these inescapable suitors.
Not a soul respects him, none know his name.
But all know the story of this forlorn journeyman.
Wandering into eternity.
In time he will encounter, the evil of Death.
And he should go willingly,
For nobody cares to remember him.
But when that time came, however,
This abandoned wanderer did not take kindly to Death.
He resisted the urge to fall into that great abyss.
When Death queried as to why,
The man simply replied:
“For I have failed to complete my life.”
“Love is the final destination,”
The man continued.
“And that is where I expect to meet you next.”
And with that, the man swiftly left.
Walking on, and searching on,
yearning for the day in which he finds Love.
