when the sun comes in the afternoon
and the light hits you
in all the right spots, you don’t think
you’re beautiful,
but I do.
In this picture you’re smiling
touching his hair while he ignores you
plinking away on a banjo
(because novelty)
gorgeous-
the people of my world are gorgeous-
everybody gorgeous-
and my sister with a camera in hand got a hold of it
for a second, and a sliver of my body in the corner
the side of my face turned, hair falling curling
eyes open watching you
eyes open with awe
eyes wishing they could be what they see in
my friends-
god, I see everything, I see
god, I see everything.
