Kimono Girl
She used to wear a different kimono to school every day
Deep purples, royal reds, and mysterious dark grays
She wore big wiry glasses two sizes too big for her face
Two pigtails sat atop her head held tightly with lace
The kids made snide comments at her and all laughed
They whispered in her ear “join the circus…it is right up your path”
She now wears a plain navy jumper to class
Today she informed everyone kimonos are a thing of her past
