Among The Moon

A journey unforeseen
Like the moon, wax and wean
But so little to us does it mean
A show of time that passed
Dead hand of the past,
Ultimately beaten by the finality that is last
Only until something is gone
That we begin to long
A reality that come upon
Terribly tearing taunt teased
An ache not easily eased
Death has securely seized
Unlike the phases of the moon
A life that will never croon
The simplicity of its humblest tune
