Heartbeat

The sound of my heartbeat is ever so unique
It never misses a beat, and patters like feet.
Every few seconds my heart takes a leap,
Just as the runners in all the track meets.
My heartbeat feels strong and heroic;
If there was a competition, I would win first for it.
My heart will continue the same beat until I lay in a hearse,
But until then it will keep beating underneath my shirt.
