i am the speck of dust that doesnt let you see on a clear day

a bird flying across a horizon, a scratch on your lense

a mole on a near perfect face, an imperfection set forever

i am the loss of signal, the phone call missed, the text not sent

i am the feeling after your loved on leaves, the emptiness

i am the chill at night, your call back to reality

i am the stilless of a broken heart, the lost beat

i am the love that couldnt be and was put away

i am the aftermath, the sadness, the tears, the shatters

i am the song that brings you back, that always plays

the memory that plays over and over every night

i am the hours lost in thought, the wondering eyes

i am the stars you cant see at night

i am what you refuse to go back to, never again

the mistake that messes with your head

i am what you couldnt fix, left broken

i am the vancany no one ever fills

i am what you dont want to remember, but cant forget

i am the bright city that hides the falling stars

i am the wishes you wont make

i am the chance you didnt take

i am all that didnt happen, and never will

I don't know how, but you have put on paper what has caused me so much grief and stolen my sleep. This poem has put my mind at ease, and thanks to you, I might not go insane.
