This Playground Isn't for Children Anymore MAG
here, I've abandoned my emotions.
hope sits on top of the plastic playhouse, gazing starry-eyed at pinpoints of light
in the sky.
arms flung wide, embracing the biting wind, she dreams of being queen.
depression has taken the swings. hoping to fly, hoping to be free,
the rusting chains pull him back down to gravity-ridden earth.
anxiety commands the tallest slide. over
and over again,
she never stops, never slows. a mesmerizing cycle with no escape.
apathy is waiting. waiting for the playhouse, the slide, the swing.
waiting for the monkey bars, the seesaw.
he knows he'll have his chance.
he always does.
love is new.
love is alone on the squeaking metal seesaw.
