Together We Stand
I fell down,
I shot up,
I stared at the target.
I reached for his hand,
I got up from the ground,
I rested my legs in my ready position,
I could feel my leg,
I could feel the warm strem of red,
I knew it was bad.
I felt the pain,
I felt the game.
But once that ribbon snapped,
So went my leg,
So went my future.
I felt the same hand that helped me up,
I felt that he understood,
I felt his sorrowes from losing.
He help me cover my scartch,
He didn't snatch my match.
I took a step back,
No, I didn't act,
Catching my breath,
I stood in second place with you.
