Road to Forgiveness
Dark and murky are my days
With pain and anguish my guiding way.
Dragging through the choking mist
I pry and claw at shackled wrists.
Regret and Guilt chain hand to hand
Forged of Past is each cold band.
And in my bonded walk of shame
I know there is but one to blame.
Life in blood but death in heart
Where Heaven ends and Hell thus start.
Yet glissading past the cursed wisp
Came Forgiveness with a tender kiss.
Shy and fleeting still she stayed
Like muffled steps of thine own shade.
But if I came to court her soul
I'd be freed to live again as whole.
