Mountain Top
Let’ pretend for a quick second,
close your eyes and imagine standing on a high mountain top,
cloudless sky, blissful breeze.
Inhaling the inadequate, exhaling the powerless
If you move an inch you will fall.
If you stand in place you won’t move.
You admire what is ahead of you.
You fear to look behind you.
Falling behind, you can’t see where you are going
Kind of like digging at the past.
Falling forward makes you scared,
not knowing if anything will catch you,
kind of like not wanting to move on.
Standing in place, you worry about what pace to take
Let’s pretend for a quick second,
close your eyes and imagine your past is hell.
Staying in place is earth.
Moving on is heaven.
Which will you choose?
We can easily repeat a mistake
We can easily choose to change.
But why is it we are all afraid to fall face first forward.
We are able to see what lies ahead of us,
instead we choose to fall back.
Repeating every mistake,
been there and done that.
Yet, we fail to see the beauty beyond it all.
Go ahead and stand on your mountain top.
Just take a quick second,
to admire the truly beautiful blue sky,
feel the cold, blood warming breeze.
Inhale your power to move
Exhale your feeling of in-adequateness
The decision of which way you fall,
is now up to you,
because we can easily create heaven on earth, but not heaven in hell.
