I want to be remembered as the girl who always smiled, the one who could brighten up your day, even if she couldn't brighten her own

I'm only me. That's all I can be. No more, no less, don't second guess. I love, I live, I laugh, I cry. I've wished sometimes that I could die. Some days I'm funny others I'm not, sometimes I'm in overdrive and I can't stop. You may not like me, but that's okay because this is me and how I'll stay.

"Not so in other people's definitions maybe, but you act the way you are, because that is who you are.
You are the only person who is you.
You are unique, and everybody has flaws, but these flaws make them perfect."

“Well, I found out early on that I either laugh or cry. Since crying isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, I try to make laughter my priority.”

Our thoughts are magic,
deceiving and spell bounding.
And when devoid of them,
the magic disappears.
They flow,
the murky ocean waves,
crashing to shore.
But the craze subsides
as they reach it.
They claw to stay behind,
to remain, but,
slowly and surely,
are dragged back
into reality.
As we look on,
the confusing depths
of daily life
are consoled and
counseled by our thoughts.
The magic.

The author's comments:
This piece was truly inspired by history. The thoughts one can have impact an event, good or bad. If one takes a small child to a magic show, they might be quite entranced by the magician. However, if that child then becomes an adult, and sees that magic show again...it might be a different viewpoint. One could even say the poem is about growing up, innocence to experience. But that's a thought itself.
