Reasons
Promises broken time and time again,
I wont do it I promise them
But again and again
The promise is broken
Because why try when the truth is so crystal
I need them, but they don't need me
And I sit on the floor, life spilling to the floor
My tears turning crimson
Why keep trying
'Cause it doesn't take very long
For everyone to move on
And I'm used to being thrown aside
Vision blurs and I see
10 years later before me
Watching my bestie walk the isle
With the boy she feel for after so much hurt
Seeing the boy so miserable by my side smile for once and glowing with warmth
And a little boy sitting on my lap, not yet 2
A smile that hit home
Despite all the scars on my heart
The room comes back and my tears fall slow
I realize exactly what I have to lose
And I find my reasons to keep holding on
