Web of Lies
So many lies I’ve told
To so many I claim to care
So many threads I’ve weaved
Sucking away all my air
When accused of lying
When one is in fact right
I stick up my chin and say
As I fill their line of sight
I never lie about
These four things
Death, nor rape,
Nor pregnancy
But in truth
I have spun tails
About all those things
So my comeback fails
Guilt fills me to the brim
And I feel just so sorry
For the web of lies I spin
But that doesn’t end the story
