Waking Dreams MAG
There is a certain time at night
When you’re not awake, yet you’re not asleep,
And though your eyes are open wide,
Your conscious wanders through waking dreams.
The shadows seem to bunch and grow.
Your eyes aren’t closed, yet you can’t see.
The minutes lag; time seems to slow,
And still you lie in waking dreams.
The moon is full, the stars are bright,
From their glow the shadows flee.
But you’re still trapped in dead of night,
And all you know are waking dreams.
Impossibly, the silence grows;
The ticking of the wall clock speeds.
Heavy with sleep, your eyelids close
Freeing you from waking dreams.
