Metaphorical Nostalgia
Epiphany comes all too clear when I wake upon the couch.
My cramped, crushed, disjointed limbs all twisted on that tired couch.
Perhaps a small part of me hoped to
Or even believed that I might witness morning from my bed;
to be carried up, tucked in, seven years old again.
But morning delivers its bald faced message,
Its reality check to seventeen.
For as I wake upon my couch, dressed in yesterday’s clothing,
Epiphany comes all too clear.
