Goodbye Control
My heart screams in agony, sorrow, love
My destiny being no longer clear to me beyond the muck
My heart hiding in the blood
My mind hiding in the wind
No more waiting can be done
My hearts been undone
The beat, so sudden sound
No more a guide than ever around
Goodbye, I throw my hands in the wind
The sky swallowing me whole
Goodbye, the words flow from my throat
Goodbye, the words cutting into my soul
Goodbye, the ropes falling low
Goodbye to all that everyone once knew
I am me, no longer theirs
And the voice they hear is mine
No longer their voice to control
And I say goodbye to those bondages once more
As my heart finds its beat once more
And I follow its rhythm through the night
No longer sure of where to go
My destination unknown
Only things staying true
Are the beats I feel pounding me through
And the invisible string pulling, tugging me through
And once more I say goodbye
To all their dreams as they fly by
And only mine are left for me
The ones left untold, mine to know
And I leave to the beat
Of a lone lost dream, and a once solemn heart.
