Without Goodness
Long fingers curl and sweep
Unrelentingly pressing, meeting rough greased hair
Combing, grabbing,
Fevered white fangs
Biting, tearing
Lapping across the unruly mixture
Of ribboned tears and unearned sweat
Face furrowed,
Lids cage eager tears
Eyes open
Releasing ambitious pearls
Running, like falling bright stars
Swimming beneath a violent summer sky
And white sparks drape like
Fallen threads
A magnificent sadness.
